Tegucigalpa, Honduras

This is the beginning of our trip! We had gotten to Venita's house...and then left. This is on a street in her neighborhood.

Not too far from Venita's house.

Need some place to park? No problem! :)
Easter Weekend is considered to be the "holy weekend" there. We went downtown Tegucigalpa for the processional. And they have these carpets that is made out of sawdust. It was pretty amazing!
Love all the detail!

The next day, Saturday, we got up and went to the market because they said it would be open. Wrong. lol
Well, here is what was open....(sorry its blurry...we were driving.)
But Venita did get some beautiful flowers!
Driving back home!
First view of Venita's school!
Driving into the school
LOVED these trees!
This is in the school parking lot looking back towards V's house. Love the view of the mountains all around the city! Just wish it hadn't been so hazy out.
LOVED this gate!
Through the gate is this beautiful courtyard at the school!
This is on the road going back to V's house. They have no zoning laws here. You can have a house like this....
And go down the road...
And have houses like this. So sad.
This is someone's home. So sad how some people have to live. It makes you very thankful for what you have.

We saw a "walking tree" man, as we called him. That's one way to carry branches! :)

Here are 3 videos from the Easter Processional. (Don't forget to pause the sound at the end of the page.)
