Oh for Wisdom

I was put to sleep on Tuesday as I had all FOUR wisdom teeth removed. Need I say anymore? lol I've been in a lot of pain. And most definitely look like a chipmunk. :/ As I'm writing this, my sweet Momma is making me some homemade chicken noodle soup. I'm so thankful for her and my Fiance who has been taking good care of me these last few days. It's been a little rough. I can't hardly laugh or smile without it hurting. Can only open my mouth so far....but, I'm hanging in there.

Just wanted to give a big shout out to my Fiance and my Momma for everything you've done for me these last couple of days. Also thank you to everyone who has called, texted, and sent messages to see how I've been doing. You're all awesome!! :)

Ethnic Festival

I absolutely love going to The Ethnic Festival! It's Kansas City Tradition! I love how diverse Kansas City is. We have so many different cultures represented. There was somewhere between 50-60 nationalities represented, which includes artifacts from that country, food, drinks, hats, folk dancing...you name it, it was there. :)

This is the entrance for the Ethnic Festival. Love all the different flags!

My sweetheart and I enjoying the festival! :)

D trying real coconut juice from Thailand.

A Bestie's visit

One of my best friends, Dorenda, and her daughter Nessi came for a visit last week! I am sooo glad that they got to come down. Absolutely loved getting some girl time in with them! It had been almost 2 years since we had seen each other! Way too long if you ask me! But we had a wonderful time! Nessi is so full of personality...I just love that little girl! We didn't get many pictures, but here are a few after church before she left town.

Me and Nessi girl! Love her so much!!!

Me and my bestie!

Had to sneak this one in....my cousin, Paulette and I after church. :)

Dwight and Nessi girl! They hit it off great!! They became really good buddies! :)

Is this a Dream?

It was just one week ago that my Honey asked me to marry him! :) There are some moments where I honestly can't believe that it really happened! I've dreamed of that moment my entire life. What girl doesn't?! :) Growing up, my Dad was (and still is) a professional photographer and we photographed weddings almost every weekend of every year. Growing up going to so many weddings, I always dreamed of how my wedding would be. And now...I actually get to plan my own!!! It's been a full week of planning, trying to set the date, planning the Bridal party, colors, getting the church reserved, searching for unique ideas, and I keep staring at my beautiful ring asking myself if its just a dream. But, I'm glad to say that its reality! :)

I get to marry the man that has become my best friend, who knows how to communicate. Who is so sincere, sensitive, caring, and tender hearted man who most importantly loves God and puts Him first! I'm so glad that God allowed our paths to cross. He's seen me at my best...and he's seen me at my worse. The times where I didn't feel so pretty yet he told me I was the most beautiful girl. And yet, he still loves me. I'm a blessed girl. No matter what anyone else might think. :)

Now, I better get off of here, my sweet friend Kristy is coming in this afternoon for a short visit. I'll take what I can get! I love having girl time! :) There is also some wedding planning to do! :)

Have a great weekend!

The Proposal!!!!

Saturday, August 11, 2012 will be a day that I will never forget!!

One of my best friends, Dorenda, was in town for the weekend and we met up with my cousin, Paulette, for some girl time! We wanted to show her downtown Kansas City before she left the next day. So after Dwight got off of work we were going to meet him and Jeff (Paulette's husband) at Union Station for coffee. As soon as us girls got to Union Station the coffee shop closed! I love this coffee shop and was kind of bummed that they just closed! So after a few minutes, we decided to go to Liberty Memorial to show Dorenda the view. It's one of my MOST favorite spots in Kansas City!!

So we get up to the lookout at Liberty Memorial, we are all doing our own thing...walking around, talking, taking pictures. Dwight and I were standing there talking and he says, "I have a question to ask you..." Still looking at the skyline not realizing what is going on, I said, "What?" I look over and he was down on one knee...and said, "Will you Marry Me?!" I said, "YESS!"

I couldn't even say anything afterwards. I was shaking and got all teary eyed when I looked at my cousin, Paulette, and realized, Oh my word! I just got engaged!!!!! lol

I absolutely love my bling bling!! :) So glad my cousin captured this picture....I LOVE It!! :)

He wasn't even planning on proposing to me this night, but he had the ring with him just in case that special moment came, and it did! He wanted to catch me off guard, and he did just that! :)

It was such a perfect moment! On a perfect Kansas City evening, right at Sunset, overlooking the City at one of my favorite spots!!! The place where he first held my hand!! :)

So Romantical! :)

A long awaited Update! :)

Hey everyone!

Well, once again I haven't been very good at keeping up the blog. I seriously need to become better at this. Soo soo much has happened since I last posted in April! I'll do my best to catch you up!

  • In May, my Honey came up to see me! We had a fabulous time! We had a date to the Chris Botti concert at the Midland Theatre! It was FABULOUS!!!
  • Over Memorial Day weekend, I drove to Indiana and SURPRISED my niece with a trip to New York City!!!!!!!! She was so SHOCKED!! I'll do my best to post a "few" pictures of our time together! My sister, cousin, and her daughter also met us there and we had a blast!
  • Over that time period, I drove several thousand miles, and was in almost 15 states in 2 weeks! Talk about being tired!!!
  • At the first part of June, I traveled to Tennessee to see one of my best friends, Jen. She is like a sister to me. And of course, I got lots of Auntie K time in with Bradyn too! I had a blast just having some girl time. There is nothing like it!
  • From Tennessee, I traveled down to Mississippi to see my Honey!  Of course it was wonderful. Loved getting to spend a lot of time with him, meeting more of his family and friends. Loved getting to spend time with his best friend and his wife. They are like brothers. I've quickly learned how amazing Bradley and Paige are! I'm so glad to have met them and become such good friends with them.
  • My Honey is moving to Kansas City!!! Yay!!!!! I am so excited that he will be close to me!! So in the meantime, we have been fixing up my grandma/grandpas home since that is where he will be living. :) They've been gone for several years and my parents now own their house. It's such a cute little house that sits on 2.5-3 acres right in the city! It has so much potential and it'll be really cute once we get it fixed up! :)
  • July 1st...one of my besties moved home from living in Honduras for 2 years! Yay!!! If you've been following my blog for any length of time, you will most likely remember all the stories and pictures of my time in Honduras a little over a year ago. Anyone remember the hermit crab story on our private island?! HAHA!! :) Sweet memories! But I am so glad she is back HOME now!
  • July 10th, my Honey moved to Kansas City! I was (and still am) such a happy girl! I went to bed with a smile on my face knowing that I would get to see him every single day! This week we had been talking for one year!
  • Towards the end of July, we went to the Shaw Family Reunion. It was such a blast!! I'm so thankful I got to spend some time with all of my family!
  • One of my best friends, Dorenda came to visit me last week, along with her adorable daughter!! We hadn't seen each other for almost 2 years and it was wonderful to get some girl time in with her!!
  • Now that brings us to this past weekend! But it deserves a different post! :) Teehee.....stay tuned!!!

Instagram

I simply adore this picture! :) Seriously can't wait for the next 2 1/2 weeks to pass by! I miss him! He is the most genuine, sweet, and real guy I've ever met! I could go on and on about all the things I like about him, but I shall save that for another time. :) I love how we accidentally matched on our way to church that night! :) *sigh* He makes me smile! :)

Off to Ole Miss land!

This past weekend was amazing!!! I drove down to Mississippi to see my handsome boyfriend! :) *aww* I seriously had the best time and loved getting to spend time with *him*! It's hard when your 11 hours away!

I was so honored to meet some of Dwight's best friends, Paige and Bradley. They are fabulous people whom I had an instant connection with. I felt like they were family. They were so kind to let me stay in their home! (I *stole* this picture from her facebook page since I failed to get one of them myself.) I left feeling like I had gained a sister in Paige. Love them!

When I arrived, I was able to meet them and Dwight's Mom, Janet! She's so sweet! Excited to get to know her more! She had bought me flowers and had a goodie bag full of food for me for my drive back! Along with some goodies that Dwight bought for me! The flowers were gorgeous!!

We hung around and talked for awhile and then Dwight and I headed out for date night! We ate dinner at Biaggi's...a fabulous Italian restaurant! They had some awesome fountains in the courtyard that we had to have a photo op! :)

We went across the street to a Fresh Market and walked around--loved it! And saw some other fountains in the shopping area! LOVE this fountain!! It reminded me of Kansas City!

Self portrait time! :) Next time we'll have to have someone take better pictures of us in front of it! :)

My gorgeous tulips!!

We went to this flea market type shop, in Fondren, which was really cool by the way! It had this sweet little cafe right in the middle of it! How cool is that?!

Next door was Brent's Drugstore. SUCH a cool place!!

Inside the drugstore was an old diner! Bless! I love little places like this!!!

And what better thing to do while we're there? Get a milkshake!! Yummo!!

We saw this really cool War Memorial!

Friday night before we left for church! I adore this picture! :)

Full length

Saturday, off to do some shopping!

Paige and I as we got to the mall! Love this girl!!!

D and I at the mall! I don't like this picture of me, but D looks good! :)

D surprised me with this gorgeous rose while we were out and about! So very sweet! :) It's the little things!

Mr. Chef himself cooking a fabulous dinner!! He is such a great cook!!! Love his bbq sauce! That's a big deal for a Kansas City girl! ;)

Photo op in the midst of cooking dinner! I love this picture! :)

Last but not least...we had our pictures taken-for the fun of it- while I was there!! We had a lot of fun taking these! I love this picture!! Can't wait to see the rest of them from Geran Photos!!

Now...will the next 2 1/2 weeks please come quickly so I can see him again?! :)

Happy Easter!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Easter!!! Amongst all the fun of searching for eggs and getting all dressed up, I pray that we remember what Easter is all about!

Here is a couple of pictures of my sweet friend Angela and I after church on Easter Sunday!

This is Sissy (Noelle) and Caedyn after they found their eggs! It was so sweet! Sissy didn't have as many so Caedyn was helping her get some! :) Love those kiddos!

PBR Rodeo

Some friends and I recently went to the PBR Rodeo here in Kansas City! Let's just say, there is definitely a first time for everything! LOL I am not a Rodeo kind of girl. But it was honestly a lot of fun! I loved getting to hang out with my dear friends!

Although my sweet friend, Angela, had to explain EVERYthing to me because I really didn't have a clue what was going on! But, all in all, we had a wonderful time! YEEHAW! :)

Power Up Conference

We recently had the Power Up Conference at our church! If I had one word to sum it up, it would be...FABULOUS!!!! There was so much anointing, power, and faith in those services! I'm so thankful for the direct words from God that I received!! Thankful for the things that he has ...YET to do! God gave us many words that I have been holding onto! I'm so excited about what God is doing not only in my personal life but in our church! TLC is the most amazing church I've ever been apart of! Can't wait to see how God blesses TLC the rest of the year!

Did you wear green?!

If you didn't, I bet you got pinched!! :) It's okay to admit it. lol

My friend Mel and I joined up with our friends Angela and Danny and their son Daniel! We had a great time! It was Kansas City's 40th Anniversary for the St. Pat's Day Parade! We had a great time...and let me tell you. We saw just about everything! Lord help!

This is Mel and I hanging out at the parade. It was so bright outside! And yes, we got sun-burnt on ONE side of our face! bahaha Ok, maybe not that much of an exaggeration but it was most definitely a lop-sided burn! LOL!

Angela and I!
And the parade begins!! Love seeing those men in uniform! Thankful for the men that serve our country!
Loved seeing all the old cars! I would love to take a ride in one of these one day!

Me with Mel and Angela! :) Love these gals!

Ah!! Dancing horses!!! That was the coolest thing ever!! Never seen that before!

There you have it friends! A taste of what the Kansas City St. Patrick's Day parade is all about it! :)
