Lovin' my boys in Minnesota!

Well, I decided to bring my laptop and as promised I'm doing some blogging. :) We made it to Minnesota around 6:30 last night and it only took us about 6 1/2 hours with some road construction. We made very good time! And...had a great time with Momma Smalley--had many great laughs! One thing we saw was a trailer that you would normally see cattle in...but I looked over and it was a TON of little piglets sticking their noses out of the little holes in the trailer. LOL It was hilarious and so cute! One things for sure, we were so excited when we saw the Minnesota state sign! :)

Last night when we got here, Owen came running out to meet us and little Declynn came crawling as fast as he could to meet us! Well, his grandma for sure, but I got a hug out of the deal! :) I'll take it! It was so good to see everyone again!!

Later, we went to eat at Applebees..yummy! Here is a picture of Owen and Declynn when we were finished eating. Love my boys! :)

Owen just left for school and Declynn is still sleeping. Not sure what we are going to do today, but I'm excited to be here with the Sanders! The first time I've been up here since they moved here.

Hope everyone has a good day today! I'll be writing more later!

"On the road again"

Hey everyone!

Isn't that how that old song goes? "Ohh On the road again!" Or something like that?! :) I just wanted to take a few minutes and let yall know that I am leaving in the morning for Minnesota for a couple of days. I'll be getting back late Saturday night. As of right now, I am not going to take my laptop with me so I won't be posting anything until I get back. If that changes, I'll be sure to get on here and do some blogging. :)

Until then,
-ME-

Inspiration

I have never posted about this before, and have only shared this dream with a few people but I have had a long time dream of publishing a book. Not a normal book as you would think…but a book of Kansas City. I would love to publish something capturing a book displaying what Kansas City has to offer. When I think of Kansas City there are so many things that come to mind in how I would love to explain how I feel. I have grown to love this city. Every time I drive around, I find something new and exciting. I absolutely love to drive around and find different opportunities to take apart in. I love living in a big city that offers a big city feel yet a small town feel if you want it. So many places to go, so many festivals to visit, and such an international twist. I love it that we have so many different cultures represented here. I have gotten re-inspired and have started taking many more pictures of Kansas City. I am really looking into all the different options in Kansas City and dreaming of different ways and designs to publish the book. This is a future dream that I hope to some day fulfill. :)

Quote for the Day

I received this quote in an email a few days ago and have been thinking about how true this is. "Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." It really makes you think of life in general. Sometimes in life we make mistakes and wish we could go back and fix them, but we can't. But...we can always change the ending in our life, especially with God's help. God is simply amazing like that! I only hope that this could be a inspiration to someone or someone that you know. :)

Matching Cousins

Paulette and I walked into church on Sunday and discovered that we were matching in black and white. So, of course, that calls for a picture! But then again, when isn't there a time to take a picture?! :) I love this gal so much and so thankful for her!

Below is a picture from when we went exploring Kansas City on Sunday evening. This was taken at Union Station, Downtown Kansas City. :)

Ash-Kate Designs!!

Okay so I've seen a couple people blogging about certain rooms in their home..so since I don't have a home of my own yet, I decided to blog about my sisters amazing artwork! She totally ROCKS!!! She paints free-hand on canvas. I was at my sisters home this past weekend and decided to take pictures of all the artwork in her home. :) Not too mention the fact that she is an amazing decorator! She also sells art-work per request, so if you know of anyone that is interested, let me know! :)

This is the art that my sister painted (on canvas) that is in her dining room

Remembering 9/11...

This is a day that we as Americans shall never forget. It was a day, 8 years ago, that changed our life. There were so many people that didn't get to go home to their families that day. Where were you when this happened? I was at Gateway College of Evangelism on this day in my first hour class. Someone knocked on the door and told us what happened and everyone was immediately dismissed and we all went into the Chapel and prayed. Although we don't really hear much about it anymore, may we never forget this day. We must keep our country and our nation's leaders in prayer. GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

Happy Birthday, Paulette!!

Happy Birthday Beautiful!!!

I know that this is a day late, but I wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday!! I love this picture of us from when we were in Chicago! What a fun trip! :) I love you so much and am so thankful for you!!! You're the best! :)

Photo Shoot with Ashlyn

While Ashlyn was spending the week with us, I decided to take her to Downtown Kansas City and take some pictures of her. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them. :)

She even made me take a few. lol

This one was taken at the Kansas City Public Library! I love it! It looks so artsy! :)

Ashlyn's Visit to Kansas City

My neice, Ashlyn, just spent the week with us this past week! We had a blast! She got lucky because she was with us over Labor Day and I had the day off, so we went exploring around Kansas City to see what we could find. :) It was so much fun being adventurous with her. We explored Downtown Kansas City, Westport, and the Kansas City Public Library which is awesome outside. Ashlyn LOVES to read and would read 24/7/365 if you let her. lol

Congratulations Dericke and Melanie!
